Back in May i asked the forum to help me finding trails arround Prage and asking if someone is open to host me on his next trip.

There were some suggestions one of them fantastic Haje Pruhonicce Psari and dowm to the river…(red and then blue line) I did it last week, the other one was to take the riverside to karlstein also great!!

This weekend I am wide open for suggestions, meanwhile I bought a Garmin GPS if anyone has special tracks

Thanks in advance, by the way my nick name is not related by any means to the Czech meaning of Paragon my pals use to call me like this back in the 90's when I rode a Gary Fisher Paragon…

I'm glad to read, that you like the same trails like me. There are many more of them, you can buy a touristic map of the surroundings of Prague (one map for west and one for east) and plan your trips on your own easily.

I can suggest you to try a track of my favourite race in Brdy mountains, south-west from Prague. You will find a map here: http://maratony.sportbusiness.cz/…rva_2008.jpg

Brdy mountains are full of nice trails, up and downs all the time, rocks and roots. If you like it, you can try the race, it's on 16. August.

      Good luck!

i bought a map prague and surrounding by bike , but it is quite difficult to plan if you do not know what to expect.

That's the main reason for my question

Don't worry about these czech posts, they are something like jokes.

All the tourists trails are usually good for bike too, you will find nice things almost everywhere. The popular areas are Brdy mountains, trails around the river Sázava (especially the red tourist trail), area between Prague and Beroun and hills Voděradské Bučiny near the town Říčany on the east  from Prague. Green trail along the river Vltava on the south between the dams Slapy and Štěchovice is a real speciality.

I could show you some trails but I'not in Prague now. You can send me a mail and we could go biking another time.

Well, when I was asking the same in Austria, the reactions were friendlier. Some Czech people cannot understand, that sometimes everyone needs a help. And politeness is a completely foreign word in this country, even thought there is a czech translation…

I'd invite you to join, but I am planning a longer whole-day trip this weekend, so maybe some next time Or I am not sure, how you feel about that.

I can only recommend the red trail from Radotin to Karlstejn and the blue trail back (for a shorter trip). Or for a longer one, try the Brdy range, red trail from Zbraslav. There is a part from Jiloviste to Cernolice, which is for experienced bikers only, so I recommend to follow the road and join the red trail via the yellow one from Ritka. To the very end (Mount Plesivec) it is approx. 56 kilometres and some 55 back, but you can return anytime through the Berounka valley.

      Take care!

I work everyday with Czech guys end foud them very polite may be not very communicative but had no problem with my czech coleegs. In every forum there are negatige people looking for discussions or so … but the good people that give you a good advise are the important ones (to me)

I did a nice city tour from Karlovo Namesi to the athletic area, and some parks arround it a couple of very nice ride climbing and enjoying a nice Saturday , I ended riding back under a short heavy rain …

Tomorrow I will try Ricany area, I hope
