I’m working on building an budget ebike and planning to make a bldc motor that fits the bike frame. The motor size I’m aiming for is about 60–80mm in diameter, 150–200mm in length, with at least 5kW output.
My plan is to find some used bldc motor, take their stato steel core, and then machine my own rotor and housing
But I’m still thinking about whether to go with inrunner motors(cheaper and they seem more common in ebike) or outrunner motors(seem to be offer much higher torque)
I’m really hoping someone could give me some advice on this project since I’m still pretty new to working with these types of motor
