Pocházím ze Španělska. Tipy.

First of all. I Don't speak Czech, i can speak a little english and obviously, spanish. Sorry :( And i don't know if this is a best secction to write this,

So… My name is Joan and I'm from Valencia, Spain, and i will go to Brno in 1 week, to study my last course of my career. I will be from september to july.

I love cycling, especially mountain biking (light Enduro/Allmountain/whatever…) but i also like road.

My bike (On One 456 Carbon) is For sale now… (i will bought a giant trance when i come back). BUT, in brno i won't have a mountain bike..

I'm thinking of buying a cheap mountain bike in Brno or taking from spain my road bike (it's a cheap bike, but I love it).

Here, in valencia, we have a good temperature in winter and don't rain too much, and rarely snows, so we can ride all the year.

However, I have read that in the Czech Republic it is cold and rainy and it snows a lot.

So, i don't know what to do. I will live in a student residence… I am worried about the theft of the bicycle in the residence.

Can you talk about the weather in Brno for cycling?

Bring my road bike?

Buy a cheap mountan bike or road bike and before come back, sell it?

forget about cycling for now?

Are there any groups of cyclists that can accompany me on the routes and teach me some places?

Nejdříve. Nehovořím češtině, mohu mluvit trochu anglicky a samozřejmě i španělsky. Omlouváme se :( A já nevím, jestli je to nejlepší sekce pro psaní tohoto,

Takže … Jmenuji se Joan a já jsem z Valencie, ve Španělsku, a za 1 týden půjdu do Brna, abych studoval můj poslední kurz své kariéry. Budu od září do července.

Mám rád cyklistiku, zejména horskou cyklistiku (lehké Enduro / Allmountain / cokoliv …), ale také se mi líbí silnice.

Můj bike (On One 456 Carbon) je na prodej … (koupím obrovský trance, až se vrátím). VUT v Brně nemám horské kolo.

Mám na mysli koupit levnější horské kolo v Brně nebo vzít ze Španělska svůj silniční kolo (je to levné kolo, ale mám to rád).

Zde, ve valencii, máme v zimě dobrou teplotu a nepríjemíme příliš, a zřídka sněží, takže můžeme jet po celý rok.

Četl jsem ale, že v České republice je chladno a deštivo a hodně sněží.

Takže nevím, co mám dělat. Žiju v rezidenci studentů … Obávám se krádeže kola v rezidenci.

Můžete mluvit o počasí v Brně na kole?

Přineste moje silniční kolo?

Koupit levný mountan kolo nebo silniční kolo a než se vrátíte, prodat?

Zapomenout na cyklus?

Existují nějaké skupiny cyklistů, kteří mě mohou doprovázet na trasách a naučit mě nějaké místa?

  yes, winter in lowlands of Czech Republic means lot of rainy or foggy days, temperatures around 0–10°C (in extremes from –15°C to 20°C) and some snow. Brno is one of the warmest places in Czech Rep, so thin snow layer is there only few days per winter.
  
  But it doesn't mean, that it is impossible to ride a bike in conditions like this. ;) You will need some warmer clothes and termobidons or camelbak (better isolation) and also some lights – in december, sunrise is around 8h and sunset around 16h CET.

  Hola Joan. I hope somebody will tell you how to keep a bike in a students' residence from thieves. My advice is buy a cheap mountain bike in Brno and explore the country around Brno on that MTB. It will be muddy rainy and cold from November until March. A little of snow in the hills maybe in January or February. It would be nice to ride your road bike in the spring but somebody could steal it. I am sure you will find friends for MTB rides near Brno.

    Yes it is, lot of cyclist use older or cheaper mountainbike as bike for winter riding and training.
    
    When it is above 0°C, it's beter to ride on tarmac (even ob mtb) because of mud everywhere, but when it's freezing and/or there is few cm of snow, it's great to ride out of tarmac. :)
    
    There is way way less cyclist riding in winter than in summer, but you know, when you want be better, you had to ride whole year and winter is ideal for endurance low intensity trainings.
    
    Personaly, i am looking for winter. :) Misty cold sunrise, fresh snow is cracking under tires, everything looks calm, almost no other people outside…

  Yes, it's usual. There are plenty of very nice MTB locations near Brno, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it. I don't live there anymore, but you'll find some guides pretty sure.

    You can try international trail database www.trailforks.com and immediately download app mapy.cz to your phone! – wery good free offline touristic maps of Czech Republic and whole world. Or you can find cycling-friendly routes using Strava heatmap.

      But I'm not lucky with the sale of my bike. 27.5" Carbon bike with shimano xt 699 € and no people interested! it's crazy.
      
      Doesn't matter, I will check a cheap second hand bikes in the „bazar“ section on this website and i will leave my bike in my parent's house.
      
      When i arrive to Brno and bought a bike, i hope find a partner to ride around brno.

      Ale nemám štěstí s prodejem motocyklu. 27.5 "Uhlík kolo se šimanem xt 699 € a žádní lidé se o to nebaví!
      
      Nezáleží na tom, zkontroluji levné levné jízdní kola v sekci „bazar“ na této webové stránce a nechám motorku v domě svého rodiče.
      
      Když přijedu do Brna a koupím si motorku, doufám, že najdeme partnera, který se bude pohybovat kolem Brna.
